Hanna Sadd, Megan Slater and Max Pegram starting in the Fall of 2023!
Hey, my name is Hanna Sadd. I graduated from Lassiter High School in Marietta Georgia, in May 2023 with honors. I have lived in Marietta my whole life. I would not be who I am today without the neverending dedication and love from Jesus, my parents and family.
While in high school, I played lacrosse, volunteered in nursing homes in my community, and was a youth leader in the Make-A-Wish Georgia. Navigating high school during covid presented a very unique and difficult learning environment which led me to grow and flourish in ways I never would have imagined.
I am excited to continue my studies and education through Toccoa Falls College. I plan on majoring in Communications with an emphasis in Social Media Management, for wedding planning. I have always been fascinated with the process, dedication, and connection within the wedding planning process. I have had working experience through Queen Custom Couture, and David’s Bridal. Working in the dress environment throughout the past two years and 6 months, I have only gained more knowledge and excitement about my future!
My parent’s names are Greg and Cheryl Sadd and my Kfeirian Grandparents are Jameel Sadd and Louise Hanna Sadd. Although I never got to meet my grandmother, her memory lives on in the vivid stories of my aunts and uncles, and her hard work and dedication to her family continue to inspire me. I have slight memories of Jameel singing in the church choir and hanging out during coffee hour after church with his fanny pack full of juice boxes for my siblings and I.
I am excited to have received this scholarship and I look forward to coming to the reunion in September, 2023.

Hello! My name is Megan Slater. I am a graduate of Boyd County High School of Ashland, KY. As I embark on the next chapter of my academic journey, I am excited to be enrolling at Marshall University, where I will be majoring in Computer and Electrical Engineering. What truly captivates me about this field is its incredible diversity of opportunities, enabling me to explore a vast spectrum of professional pathways. The ability to have access to such a wide range of professional careers. Where there is the chance for creativity. Since childhood, I have always been one with a creative mind and I found it in art and painting.
I am excited for my academic journey to be continued with The Herd, and with all the amazing support of the reunion foundation and family, I am confident in my decision. One of the biggest aspects of this that I appreciate the most, is that I am able to say that my heritage has played such a huge role in my academic career from this point forward. With the unwavering support of everyone that participates in the reunion, all I can say is thank you.
As the daughter of Chad and Dani Slater, granddaughter of James and Cheryl Slater, and great-granddaughter of Paul and Jeanette (Cantees) McCoy, I have been blessed to be a part of the reunion for as long as I can remember. Because of this, I eagerly await the reunions of both this year gathering and the reunions that lie ahead!
I really cannot thank everyone enough, and I appreciate everything more than you know! Romans 5:21

My name is Maxwell Pegram, grandson of Larry and Charlotte (Sadd) Lechlak, son of Steve and Laura Pegram, and brother of Samia Pegram. I was born in Los Angeles, Calif. but grew up in the Lake Norman area north of Charlotte, N.C.
I recently graduated from Pine Lake Preparatory (Mooresville, N.C.) and decided to further my education at Indiana University and Purdue University in Indianapolis (IUPUI). At IUPUI, I am majoring in Media Arts and Sciences with a specialization in 3D Modeling and Graphics. This way I can combine my strengths in math and art with my technical and detail-oriented thinking.
Dating back to the beginning of my 4th grade school year, my family was blessed to have my sittee (grandmother Charlotte) live with us until her passing in May 2020. Throughout those few years, she made sure to find time to impress upon my sister and I the importance of our Lebanese heritage and the sacrifices our ancestors made emigrating to the United States. She would also take over the duty of driving me to and from school and helping me when I struggled with homework. I am immensely grateful to her for guiding me down the right path in life and school.
I would like to give many thanks to the Kfeirian Reunion Foundation for the scholarship they have awarded me, as well as the many who have helped to support the Foundation.

My name is Duncan Donley, son of Kevin and Monica Donley, and I’ve been attending the reunion for many years now. My Kfeirian connection comes from my grandma Mary Thabet, who I miss very much, and who always enjoyed attending the reunions. My family and I have been coming from Michigan to the reunions since before I can remember, and every year I look forward to reconnecting with family and friends.
I graduated from the University of Detroit Jesuit High School in 2021 with honors and chose to follow my interests in physics and design. In my free time, I love to snowboard and more recently have been practicing guitar. Academically, I am currently pursuing a bachelor’s in mechanical engineering at Michigan State University. I’ve had an amazing time here at MSU, and through some hardship, have learned a lot about the mechanics of the world around us.
I’m excited to unlock new skills and find an involved career where I can continue to pursue my interests and learn more about the importance of mechanical engineering in the real world. I’m thankful to have the support of the Kfeirian Foundation and all those who contribute as I continue on this academic journey!

My name is Samia Pegram. My family moved from Los Angeles to the Lake Norman Area of North Carolina in 2006 when my father transferred jobs. They choose this area, in part, because of the highly rated public school system.
Thanks to my parents (Laura & Steven Pegram) and to many wonderful teachers, I have always enjoyed school. I recently graduated from Pine Lake Preparatory School with honors and look forward to the challenges and rewards ahead as I head off to North Carolina State to study Environmental Sciences. I have always been fascinated by science and everything that makes up Earth!
Throughout my middle and high school years, our family was fortunate enough to have my sittee, Charlotte (Sadd) Lechlak, live with us until her passing in 2020. While life was very hectic in a multi-generational household, she found time to impress upon us the importance of where our family comes from and the sacrifices they made coming to the United States.
I am very grateful to her and to the Kfeirian Reunion Foundation for the contributions made (past and present) towards making my college education a reality.
Note: Samia is transferring to Appalachian State University for the fall semester 2022. She writes:
I attended North Carolina State University my freshman year of college and spent the whole time asking myself if I could really be happy there for 4 years. After a lot of consideration, I felt that changing schools would be the best decision for not only my mental health but my learning experiences and success. I am so excited to attend Appalachian State University this fall and call myself a mountaineer! At App I plan to major in Sustainable Development (BS) - Environmental Studies. I look forward to using the Appalachian Mountains and town of Boone as a classroom and joining a community that is so passionate about supporting local sustainability efforts. I will be able to combine my love for the outdoors (especially the mountains) and my curiosity and love for science and build a future out of it! I am grateful for the experiences North Carolina State University provided me with and how much I have grown since moving into my dorm but App State will be a much better fit and I could not be more ready to get on campus!!!

My name is Samuel Anspach, son of Kelly and Patricia Anspach. My connection to the Kfeirian lineage can be traced back to my grandmother, Laura (Bassett) Augsburger. I had the privilege of attending my first Kfeirian Reunion in the fall of 2022 and plan on attending many in the future.
I am grateful to say that from a young age I was encouraged by my parents to value education. In 2021, I graduated valedictorian from New Knoxville High School. During this time, I enjoyed playing sports where I experienced two season ending injuries. Through these setbacks, I realized my love for the medical field.
Currently I am going into my Senior year at Bowling Green State University, where I am majoring in Pre-med Biology and minoring in Chemistry. I am also working on research investigating the ties between transformative education and the Corona-19 pandemic. Outside of school I try to gain as much knowledge about the medical field by volunteering at a local hospital along with working at a local nursing home as a nursing assistant. In my free time I enjoy watching sports as well as playing golf. After earning my bachelor’s degree, I plan on attending medical school with hopes of becoming an orthopedic surgeon.
